Case Study
Acoustic Walls for Gas Turbine Power Plant

Customer Challenge:
A peaking power plant served by gas turbines required noise mitigation measures to limit emissions at the site boundary and comply with local regulations.
Solution:
A series of 10m and 12m high acoustic walls, with an overall length of 300m, strategically located around the site in order to provide protection to nearby areas:
- Acoustically absorbent panels: Panels faced with perforated steel sheet to one side to avoid reflective noise issues.
- Support structure design: Singular column design with detailed calculation to reduce the support structure footprint while ensuring stability against wind and earthquake loads.
- Installation provision: Integrated lifting points for quick and safe installation.
- Durable finish: Durable ISO12944 C5 finish for long-term outdoor performance.
Outcome:
Burgess-Manning delivered acoustic walls, providing effective protection for nearby noise-sensitive areas and enabling compliant operation of the peaking power plant.
