Filter Silencer
Air Intake Cleaning for Engines, Compressors, Blowers and Turbines
The A and B standard Filter/Silencers (BMF) are designed for use on air intakes of centrifugal and axial compressors, blowers, engines and gas turbines. Custom design Filter/Silencers are available for large rotary positive blowers and reciprocating compressors.
The BMF assemblies can reduce intake noise from the source by up to 14dB. If additional acoustic reduction is required, other Burgess-Manning silencers can be added to the installation.
When the filter element replacements are needed, unique spring-loading catches simplify the removal and replacement of the filter elements. Replacement filters and spring clips can be ordered and shipped directly to your jobsite.

- Air volume (CFM or lbs/hr) at inlet conditions
- Inlet flange or piping size
- Desired filtration efficiency
- Maximum allowable pressure drop (in “W.G.”)
- Required silencing (insertion loss or max noise level)
- Any optional/special requirements
Acoustic Principles:
- Transformative and Absorptive: Reduces intake noise by up to 14 dBA depending on size and configuration.
- Additional silencers can be added for further attenuation.
