Commissioning Silencers
Commissioning Silencers for Steam Blowing Operations
Commissioning silencers are designed for temporary usage to vent down high velocity steam or air. They also collect and remove possible debris present during new pipeline construction that could cause damage to downstream equipment once the pipeline is commissioned and other equipment is installed.
Steam blowing operations generate substantial noise levels that pose additional safety risks to personnel and surrounding communities. Therefore, specialized commissioning silencers are essential for these applications. These silencers must be exceptionally robust to handle debris (including tools and weld slag), easily maintainable for cleaning, and deliver superior acoustic performance.
Our standard commissioning silencer is engineered to handle steam flows exceeding 500,000 kg/hr (1.1 million lbs./hr.) while providing 35-40 dB of noise reduction. Enhanced noise attenuation up to 50+ dB is achievable through an optional acoustic splitter package installed at the silencer outlet.
